The Federation is pleased to announce a new Technical Assistance program for credit unions that includes a free advice hotline for Federation members, and fee-based consulting services, discounted for Federation members.
This TA advice line can help you prepare for an upcoming exam, address issues identified in a prior exam, develop policies or help with general trouble-shooting. Some of the specific topics can include:
- Bank Secrecy Act & OFAC Compliance and Risk Assessment
- SAFE Act Requirements (for credit unions that offer mortgages)
- ACH Annual Audit Requirement
- Supervisory oversight reviews and responsibilities
- Bi-annual member verification requirements
- Abandoned Property/Escheating Compliance
- Daily operations and accounting

Ysemny Abood, Federation Technical Assistance Specialist
Federation technical assistance is provided by Ysemny (Nachi) Abood. Prior to joining the Federation, Nachi served as the senior accountant for New York Financial Network Action Consortium (NYCfNAC) for eight years. At NYCfNAC, Nachi assisted with general administration and human resources as well as providing on-site accounting and auditing support services to credit unions, several of which she continues to service. Prior to joining NYCfNAC, Nachi worked in banking for 20 years in a variety of positions including auditing as well as accounting.
