The National Federation of Community Development Credit Unions (Federation) is a certified CDFI Intermediary representing community development credit unions (CDCUs). Today, our member CDCUs provide credit, savings, transaction services and financial education to more than 2.5 million residents of low-income urban, rural and reservation-based communities across the United States, and hold over $22 billion in community-controlled assets.
Federation membership is an essential investment in the future of your credit union and your community. The Federation offers policy membership for CDCUs and a Community Development Partner Membership for other credit unions, organizations and individuals who choose to support the work of community development credit unions:
Policy Membership: Credit unions that serve predominately low-income communities – whether “low-income designated” by NCUA or not – are eligible to join as a policy member. As a Policy Member you have full access to all Federation programs, products and services. Policy members also maintain voting rights for Board elections and policies. Dues are assessed based upon credit union asset size.
