Member education is a fundamental value that sets credit unions apart from other financial institutions. Through one-on-one financial counseling, credit unions direct members to products and services that build their assets, reduce their debt, and provide pathways for achieving their goals, while mitigating risk to the institution.
The Federation and Neighborhood Trust Financial Partners launched Pathways to Financial Empowerment in 2015 to support and measure the impact of credit union financial counseling for low-income consumers using a central technology platform.
After strong initial results with in the first 2 years, the Federation and Neighborhood Trust are seeking new credit unions to join Pathways in 2018! Contact use to learn more!
Pathways supports credit unions to:
- Deliver consistent, best-practice counseling
- Achieve and measure great outcomes for members and the credit union on a cloud platform
- Generate reports on activity and impact
- Analyze and better understand financial wellness and engagement of members
Pathways to Financial Empowerment is made possible by the generous support of lead sponsor, MetLife Foundation, as well as contributions from Capital One and the Hearst Foundations.
