Emerging Markets Review (EMR)
Check cashers, payday lenders, and buy-here-pay-here auto dealers have been some of the fastest growing segments in the financial sector. This session will review credit union opportunities and emerging markets and encourage a holistic self-examination of your institution’s facilities, products and processes, fundraising activities, partnerships, community outreach and education programs. Asset-Building and the Aspen Asset Platform
At last year’s 34th Annual Conference on Serving the Underserved, we held a session that looked at best practices in auto lending based on a report commissioned by the Aspen Institute: Steer Clear: How Credit Unions Help Car Buyers Avoid Predatory Loans, available at: http://www.runonthebank.net/download.php?f=SteerClear.pdf.
